Budget guidance, not a fixed Cabinet Painters quote. These are published national painting-only figures, reviewed October 14, 2026. Local pricing and individual projects vary. New doors, cabinet construction, countertops, hardware upgrades and additional repairs are separate scope items. The work included in your project is confirmed in your written estimate.

The number and size of doors and drawer fronts, exposed cabinet surfaces, existing finish, grease buildup, repairs, preparation, coating selection and finish details affect the work. Grain filling, a second color, new hardware or added cabinetry can change the scope.
Look for the surfaces included, preparation, coating system, color and sheen, protection of nearby areas, and whether hardware removal and reinstallation are included. Cabinet interiors, shelves, repairs and upgrades should be identified clearly rather than assumed.
No. Painting updates the color and finish of existing cabinets. Refacing and new doors change the appearance of suitable existing cabinet boxes with new doors, drawer fronts or coordinated finishes. Full replacement changes the cabinetry itself and may be needed for layout changes or badly damaged boxes.
Allow several working days for preparation, priming, finishing and reassembly. The schedule depends on cabinet count, repairs and the coating system. New doors and custom cabinet boxes also need ordering or fabrication time. We confirm timing for your project. Dry-to-touch and fully cured are different stages; follow the supplied care instructions.
Sound oak cabinets can be candidates for painting. A color change alone does not necessarily hide the wood’s grain. Discuss whether you prefer visible grain or a smoother look, because filling and extra preparation affect both the finish and the quote.
Clear countertops and discuss which contents need to be moved before work starts. Access and protection depend on whether frames, interiors or other surfaces are being finished. Ask how the work area, ventilation and kitchen access will be handled before the start date.
No finish is damage-proof. Cleaning, surface preparation, a compatible coating system and proper curing help the finish perform. Daily use, impacts, moisture and cleaning products affect wear. Follow the coating’s care guidance and discuss any existing peeling or failed finish during the estimate.
We can discuss new cabinet doors and drawer fronts, hinges, drawer slides and added cabinetry as part of your kitchen project. These are additional scope items rather than part of a painting-only budget. Measurements, cabinet condition, hardware compatibility and ordering time matter.
Compare samples in your kitchen’s own lighting alongside the countertops, backsplash and flooring. You can discuss a single color or a contrasting island. Color and sheen should be selected before materials are ordered and the finishing schedule is confirmed.
